A Karate Student was running up a mountain when he came upon a snake.  The snake asked, " please pick me up and carry me to the top of the mountain, for I am tired but I want to learn karate."  The Karate Student responded…."But you are a poisonous snake, and will bite me"  The snake replied that if the  Student would carry him, he would not bite. 

When they reached  close to the top of the mountain the snake rose up and bit the Karate Student .

The Karate  Student gasped  " you said if I carried you,  you would not bite me"  the snake replied…."yes, but you knew I was a snake when you picked me up."
